How Full-Body MRIs Work

Scan Your Overall Health

A full-body MRI (or whole-body MRI) scans all major organs, tissues, and structures throughout the entire body providing a full 360º image of your health. These high-grade images are then examined to identify the threat of specific conditions. For instance, cancer is usually discovered at stage three when symptoms appear. At that advanced stage it is much more difficult to treat. This scan can detect cancer at stage one.

Full-body MRI vs Regular MRI

The primary distinction lies in the scope of imaging coverage: a full-body MRI comprehensively examines the entire body, while a regular MRI, often referred to as a specific or targeted MRI, is tailored to a specific anatomical region based on the clinical requirements of the patient. Where as regular MRIs are used for diagnostic purposes to address specific concerns, a full-body MRI is an elective scan for preventative measures.

Why Get a Full-Body MRI

Detect Conditions Earlier

A full-body MRI can detect over many conditions and cancers at their earliest stages. Some include:

  • Tumors as small as 1 cm
  • Brain aneurysms
  • Atherosclerotic disease
  • Stage 1 pancreatic cancers
  • Precancerous polyps
  • Spinal degeneration
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Multiple sclerosis

Non-invasive Imaging

A full-body MRI is very safe and painless. An MRI scan uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed 3D images of the body. Unlike X-rays, CT scans and PET scans, an MRI does not involve radiation that can hurt your body. Plus our machine is more spacious than older MRI machines, allowing for a more comfortable, less-claustrophobic experience.
