Remove Age Spots with a Lumecca Photofacial
Lumecca is a photofacial skin rejuvenation treatment that comfortably uses intense pulse light (IPL) to permanently remove age spots, sun damage, vascular lesions, rosacea, and freckles. Look years younger by improving the complexion and clarity of your skin.
How Lumecca Works
IPL Photofacial Treatment
During treatment, the Lumecca IPL device is pressed gently against the skin and emits a warm light burst that targets unnatural pigmentations. The pulse feels like a light elastic sensation.
Following treatment, within a week, the targeted discoloration and pigmented lesions flake off, evening out your skin tone.
Restore Your Natural Skin Tone
Areas of our skin can discolor over time due to sun exposure, genetics and other factors. A photofacial treatment can safely remove these age spots, returning your skin to a more youthful state.
Lumecca is best used on skin types 1-3. If your skin falls in this range, we can effectively remove blemishes or reddening.

Photofacial FAQs
What to know
How long does treatment take?
A single Lumecca photofacial session at our practices takes around one hour, although treatment depends on the severity of pigmentation in a patients skin. Within 24-48 hours of treatment, you may see a darkening of pigmented spots. This is normal, and a sign that the treatment is working. Within a week these pigmented lesions will flake off, leading a more natural, even, younger looking skin tone. Many patients enjoy permanent, long lasting results after just one treatment. Others can use up to 3 treatments to attain desired results.
Is using an IPL safe?
Yes. The light emitted by an IPL is safe for the skin. Most people do not experience any side effects, and any skin reaction in the form of reddening or a slight warming sensation usually resolves within a few hours. At most patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment, which is why we recommend avoiding direct sunlight and tanning.
What areas does Lumecca treat?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common treatment areas are those that are regularly exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, décolletage, arms, legs and hands.
